This was a brand design project I did in my third year at Northumbria University, the brief was set by D&AD New Blood, a competition based around the United Kingdom. They had a number of different briefs to choose from, I went with the one set by John Lewis. The brief was to come up with a new and innovative way to appeal to a younger demographic.
For the brief I came up with an app design called John Lewis and Jenkins, the app would work as an in-store servant, called Jenkins. The app would recommend items of clothing tailored to your needs and offer directions around your local John Lewis, to help find what you are looking for inside the store, making the consumer shopping experience in John Lewis painless. The app would also allow customers to purchase items on their phones, by scanning in and out when entering the John Lewis store.
John Lewis and Jenkins would also be available on Apple Watches, interacting in similar ways the original app, but making the customers shopping experience even easier.
